As a long tradition, on the first Sunday of each September, a Petőfi Festival is held in Coltău.Visitors from distant places and regions gather to commemorate the honeymoon of Sándor Petőfi and Júlia Szendrey spent in the town. The event starts with a church service, followed bya wreath-laying ceremony at the Petőfi-Szendrey statue in the park. The celebration ends with an open-air cultural programme.
